Founded in January 2015 by Steven A. Silverman, former Montgomery County Council member and former Director of the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development, SSGovRelations, LLC is a full service Lobbying and Consulting firm. Silverman is currently a registered lobbyist with Montgomery County, Prince George’s County and Howard County, as well as the State of Maryland. Headquartered in Montgomery County, Maryland the firm also services Annapolis, Baltimore City and County, Howard County, Prince George’s County, and Washington, D.C.

SSGovRelations assists local businesses and non-profits by advocating on their behalf, retaining outside support, and providing expertise in legislative, administrative and incentives consulting matters. Our services include, but are not limited to:

Incentives Consulting

Obtain monetary and tax-based incentives from County and City governments and the State of Maryland for retention, expansion or relocation.

Regulatory Consulting

Assisting clients through the state and local regulatory processes. SSGovRelations has particular expertise in navigating the Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services (DPS) and the State Highway Administration (SHA).

Land Use, Zoning and Development

Assisting clients through the land-use process in Maryland including lobbying County Executives and Mayors, County Councils and Commissioners, and the Montgomery County Park and Planning Commission.

Community Relations and Coalition Building

Obtain support from a wide range of civic and community groups, chambers of commerce, trade associations, developers, and business owners to assist in lobbying county, city and state governments in Maryland and Washington, D.C.
